  4. TL;DR: New Coverage

Today we are thrilled to announce RSS3 Node v1.2.0.

This new version further expands the Network’s coverage.

ActivityPub Support

RSS3 Node v1.2.0 introduces native ActivityPub support, broadening the RSS3 Network’s reach to include all ActivityPub-compatible networks, facilitating interoperability with platforms like Mastodon, Misskey, Threads, and many more.

RSS3 Network as the largest decentralized information network, covers content on Web1, 2 and 3, including RSS, Blockchains, Decentralized and Federated networks and protocols.

NEAR Support

With NEAR as the first non-EVM blockchain officially integrated into the RSS3 Network, we welcome innovative projects and protocols built on NEAR to the Open Web family. Starting today, developers can access restaking activities on LiNEAR and social posts on NEAR.social, with more to follow.

For Node Operators

Apart from the coverage expansion, we focus on stability and maintainability in this release.

We’ve enhanced the logging system to facilitate debugging and error reporting. Additionally, we’ve simplified the configuration by abstracting numerous variables and offering default values, making deployment more straightforward.

Courageous Operators who want to customize their deployment to the full extent, please refer to https://docs.rss3.io/guide/operator/deployment/configuration

Upgrade Window

Given that this upgrade includes a significant feature, ActivityPub support, we are freezing the grace period to provide Operators with additional time to prepare. We will announce separately when that is unfrozen.

As always,NetworkParams contract states the minimum version required to join the network and receive rewards.
