The RSS3 Foundation Letter - April 2024

Dear RSS3 Community,

With the thrilling launch of our Mainnet Alpha last month, April has been a period of intense and orderly development as we pave the way for the Beta Mainnet. This phase is proceeding smoothly, with every step meticulously tested and optimized. The progress made this month sets the stage for what we anticipate will be another significant leap in May with the planned launch of the Beta Mainnet.

• Number of DSL Requests: 364,258,343

Dev Progress

• We have shipped 1 REP:
  • REP-11: RSS3 Protocol Upgrade
• We are working on 2 REPs:
  • REP-16: Staking Rewards Taxation Adjustment
  • REP-20: Data Availability Layer Integration
• VSL DA: we have successfully integrated NEAR DA into the VSL Testnet. Following the stability testing, we plan to deploy it on the VSL Mainnet in early May. This achievement marks a major milestone, as NEAR DA stands out as the most cost-effective and high-performing DA solution that does not compromise on security.
• Beta Mainnet: Based on the current research trajectory, we aim to ship the Beta Mainnet in mid-May. Public Goods Nodes will soon begin operation. A separate blog will be released to introduce the details.

Marketing and Ecosystem Progress

• Google Cloud Collaboration:
  • We are excited to announce our collaboration with Google Cloud to strengthen the Open Information Layer, which enhances the flow of information across AI, social platforms, and Web3 apps. Check details
  • We are also proud to be a Web3 partner of Google Cloud, alongside other prominent partners such as Chainlink, Coinbase, NEARProtocol, BNBCHAIN and Solana, driving the future of Open Information and Open Web.
